About
Pd, short for Pure Data, is a real-time music and multimedia environment created by Miller Puckette. The current stable release is version 0.57-0, and the Mac application is compiled for macOS 10.10 or newer. Older builds are also available: Pd 0.53-1 (64-bit) for macOS 10.7 to 10.9, and a 32-bit (i386) version for macOS 10.7 to 10.14 that can load older 32-bit external libraries.
The website offers HTML documentation, a README file, and the Pd source code for download. It also points to puredata.info, a community-maintained site with add-ons, extensions, other packages, mailing lists, and additional documentation. A pd~ object has been ported to Max/MSP versions 6, 7, and 8, and PdMax versions are listed for macOS, including version 0.55test1 for macOS 11 to 12 with M1 support.
The download page lists all downloadable files, and the site is hosted by the UCSD Music Department.
