About
PDF-Over is a tool for signing PDF documents efficiently and easily. You can open the PDF by dragging and dropping it or via the file explorer, move a signature box to the desired place in the document, and then start the signing process, which is completed through app approval in ID Austria. The signature is a qualified electronic signature, legally equivalent to a handwritten one, so you no longer need to print, sign by hand, and scan documents again.
The app offers several customization options: an adjustable visible signature box, a preset profile for the official government signature, and the option to replace the signature box with a freely chosen image such as a company logo. It also supports an "invisible" signature that is recorded only in the PDF's metadata and not visible in the document content, while keeping the same validity as a visible signature. PDF/A compatibility is included as well.
PDF-Over is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS, on both Intel and ARM (Apple Silicon) Macs. Windows support requires Windows 10 version 1607 or later (or Windows Server 2016) from version 4.4.9, and version 4.4.0 onward supports only 64-bit systems. Only the latest version contains the most recent fixes and features; version 4.3.2 is end-of-life and provided only for 32-bit systems. Automatic updates can be disabled under Settings → Advanced.
