PDFify is a Mac app that turns scans, images, emails, web pages, and other content into searchable PDFs in more than 100 languages. It uses OCR text recognition, with a choice between Apple Vision and Tesseract. You can create PDF/A files for long-term archiving, reduce file size with compression, and copy all text from a PDF to the clipboard with one click. Files can be added by dragging them onto the app, through the scanner dialog, from an iPhone camera, via screenshots, through ScanSnap, or from the clipboard. You can keep the original layout or limit pages to DIN A4.
PDFify also supports batch processing directly in the Finder through Quick Actions. You can create searchable PDFs, convert them to PDF/A, or optimize their size without opening the app. You can choose whether to overwrite the existing file or create a new one, and create linearized PDFs for faster loading on the web. An undo function lets you reverse any work step.
PDFify requires macOS 12 or later and is available for free trial on the website and on the Mac App Store. You can buy a one-time license or support ongoing development with a subscription.
