About
Perplexity's Mac app brings Personal Computer to your desktop. A single keyboard shortcut opens Computer from anywhere on your Mac, and it is context aware, seeing your active app and surfacing the relevant tools. You can speak to it in voice mode, or ask it anything and get answers while it works in the background.
Computer can connect to any folder to search, read, and write your files, and it can operate native Mac apps such as Mail, Finder, Messages, Notes, and Slack. It can also control the Comet browser to browse, research, and automate the web. Computer runs actions in an isolated sandbox, and on-device authorization protects sensitive steps so you control what happens on your Mac.
Computer can also run in the background on a Mac mini, secured with 2FA, and you can start tasks from your iPhone. The app requires macOS 15 Sequoia or later.
