PhotoSweeper is a duplicate photo cleaner for the Mac, built to help you find and delete duplicate and similar photos. It is optimized for Apple Silicon and supports 64-bit, ARM, and multicore processors. It works with files and folders on your hard disks and external storage, and integrates with Apple Photos, Capture One, and Adobe Lightroom Classic. Its search can detect exact duplicates, similar photos (with an adjustable similarity threshold), and series of shots (using a maximum time gap between photos), and it can also find edited versions made in apps like PhotoMill, Photoshop, or Pixelmator. Intuitive, adjustable auto-mark rules help decide which photo to keep in each group, and Auto Lock protects sorted photos from removal while still using them for comparison.

PhotoSweeper is designed to be safe: removed photos go to the system Trash, to a special album in Apple Photos, or are marked as "Rejected" in Lightroom Classic, so they can be restored. The app supports many image formats, including RAW and HEIC, as well as PDF, DNG, and WebP, and it can handle video formats that macOS does not support natively, such as AVI, MKV, and WMV. Results can be reviewed in "One by One," "Face-to-Face," or "All in One" modes. A built-in photo browser offers an EXIF info panel, movie preview, Quick Look, and a path bar, and batch renaming lets you rename files while copying or moving them.
