About
Ping Island is a macOS Dynamic Island-style control surface for AI coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Qwen Code, OpenCode, and compatible hook-driven agent sessions. It stays compact until a session needs approval, input, review, or intervention. It also supports Hermes Agent, OpenClaw, Cursor, Qoder, Trae, CodeBuddy, and Copilot sessions through the same monitor layer. It requires macOS 14 or later.
From the app, you can approve tools, deny requests, and answer follow-up prompts without hunting through tabs. Precise focus return takes you back to the exact terminal, tmux pane, or IDE window that started a run. Codex hooks, app-server threads, and rollout fallback are kept in sync within one monitor layer. You can also map event-specific sounds and give each client its own mascot identity. In Detached Buddy mode, the Buddy moves beside the active window and shows prompts as compact side bubbles instead of a large notch takeover.
Ping Island is open source. You can install it with Homebrew (brew tap erha19/tap, then brew install --cask ping-island), from GitHub Releases, or from source. The current version is 0.2.0.
