About
Play! is a PlayStation 2 emulator that runs on Windows, macOS, UNIX, Android, iOS, and web browsers. The project maintains a compatibility tracker where users can check which games are nothing loadable, reach the intro, reach gameplay in-game, or are playable, and the team regularly publishes development log updates describing new builds.
Recent releases have focused on compatibility and stability. Version 0.68 added a missing instruction to fix rendering in some visual novel games, fixed a JIT regression affecting Free Running, and resolved a hang when skipping the intro in Viewtiful Joe. Earlier versions added preliminary Namco System 246 and 256 arcade support, CD-ROM CHD support, faster save state loading and saving using zstd compression, and a Korean translation for the Android version.
The website notes that Play! is available on Flathub and that builds can be downloaded from the downloads page. The development log reports milestones such as reaching 600 playable games in version 0.54.
