About
PortalBox lets you draw a region of your screen and turns it into a normal window that you can share in Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, or any meeting app with window sharing. The region can cover part of one window, several apps together, or a readable slice of an ultrawide display. Your meeting app sees only the PortalBox window, not your whole desktop. The frame stays in place while you switch which apps are inside it, so you can move from browser to code to slides without sharing again. You can also move or resize the frame at any time.
You can pause capture from the toolbar, menu bar, or keyboard. PortalBox then hides the preview until you resume, which helps keep private content off the screen. PortalBox needs macOS Screen Recording permission to mirror the selected area into a local preview window. It does not record, store, or upload screen content, and the selected area stays on your Mac.
PortalBox offers a 14-day free trial through the direct download. After the trial, it is a one-time purchase of $9 with no subscription, and one license works on up to two Macs. It is also available on the Mac App Store and through Homebrew.
