About
Postico 2 is a native Mac app for PostgreSQL, built for people who work with databases, including researchers, analysts, app developers, and students. It works with PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift, CockroachDB, Greenplum, and others, and requires macOS 14 or later. You can enter, search, and edit data, or run SQL queries. Clicking a table in the sidebar shows its data right away.
Postico also includes a multi-file query editor, where you can create SQL files, organize them into folders, and open the same file in multiple tabs or windows. It autosaves your changes, supports editing SQL files in other text editors, and has pgFormatter built in for auto-formatting queries. A graphical table structure editor lets you add columns, edit data types, set defaults, and view the structure as raw SQL. You can also edit functions and stored procedures.
Other features include silent background updates, with a choice between stable releases and development builds, and connection settings that support filtering servers, nested groups, and syncing with iCloud or Dropbox. A built-in Feedback button sends feedback or support requests with version information. Postico 2 is available on the Mac App Store or as a direct download. It is a paid upgrade from Postico 1.x, and an evaluation version is available with no time limit, though some features are disabled.
