About
PowerPhotos is a Mac app that works with the built-in Photos app to help you get your photo collection in order. You can create and manage multiple libraries, merge libraries while weeding out duplicate photos, and find and delete duplicates across one or more libraries. Before a merge is applied, you can preview what the merged library will look like. You can also split a library by dragging and dropping albums and photos, with PowerPhotos retaining metadata such as keywords, descriptions, titles, dates, and favorite status.
PowerPhotos also helps you edit and find photos. You can quickly add titles, keywords, and captions while moving through many photos without taking your hands off the keyboard, or batch edit multiple photos at once using configurable templates. Its multi-library search uses multiple criteria, including nested and/or predicates and criteria not available in Photos, such as file size, video duration, and height/width. You can search one library or several at once, and save searches for reuse.
For exporting, PowerPhotos offers options beyond Photos' built-in tools. It can include metadata, export in different formats and sizes, and export albums as a folder hierarchy in the Finder that mirrors your album structure. You can set Finder dates to match the photo EXIF date, customize file naming, and include videos from Live Photos. PowerPhotos 3.4.8 requires macOS 14 or later, and a free trial is available.
