About
Présentation.app is a presentation tool for PDF slides on Mac OS X. The slides can be produced with LaTeX and the popular beamer class, but the app does not depend on LaTeX. Its notable features include support for remote presentation and teaching, with an inset of live video from the presenter, a whiteboard, and pen interaction. It also supports setups with more than two screens, and offers "spotlight," "laser," and large cursor modes on the presentation screen.
The app provides two views. The presenter view shows the current and next slide, a timer, and the notes for the current slide. The presentation view shows the current slide and can optionally display live annotations, an inset video of the presenter, and a spotlight to highlight part of the slide. Hyperlinks work as well: internal links, such as beamer navigation links, function, local video links open on the presentation screen, embedded movies play there, and links to other files open in a webview on the presentation screen.
Présentation.app can be used from the command line, since it is a Python script, or from the Finder, where dropping a PDF file onto the app launches it.
