Proton Drive

About

Proton Drive is end-to-end encrypted cloud storage from Switzerland. Files, their names, and more are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded to the cloud, so only you hold the keys to unlock them. The website states that not even Proton can access your files, and that Proton does not run ads, AI training, or scanning on your data.

You can store any file and back up every photo. You can share files, photos, documents, and spreadsheets with others, and control who has access with password protection and expiry dates. Desktop file syncing automatically keeps files between your computer and cloud storage up to date. Proton Drive is available on macOS, along with Windows, Android, iOS, and web apps, so you can view, edit, and manage your files and photos on all your devices.

Proton Drive includes a free plan with 5 GB of storage and no credit card required. Paid plans add more storage, and Proton is based in Switzerland, so your files fall under Swiss privacy laws. The encrypted cloud storage is regularly audited by independent experts, and its code is publicly available for anyone to review and verify.
