About
Psysonic is an open-source desktop app for self-hosted music libraries, built primarily for Navidrome. The website describes it as fast, native and beautiful, with #NoTelemetry as a stated principle. Other Subsonic-compatible servers may work, but some features can be limited because Psysonic also uses Navidrome-specific APIs.
Psysonic's standout features include Orbit, which lets people listen together in sync over the user's own Navidrome server, with host-controlled playback, a shared queue and guest song suggestions. Its Local Library keeps a local index of the whole collection, so browsing, searching and starting playback feel instant, even on a slow or unreliable connection. On-device audio analysis (loudness, waveform and tempo) runs locally and powers AutoDJ's content-aware crossfades, LUFS-based loudness normalization and playback-speed control.
Psysonic also offers a 10-band equalizer, synced lyrics, Last.fm scrobbling, offline playback and downloads, and keybind remapping. Its Community Theme Store lets users install community themes, and a Theme Scheduler can switch looks between day and night. The website emphasizes approachability, with clear first steps and plain-language explanations for advanced options.
