About

Publii is a free, open-source CMS that runs on your computer rather than on a server. You write locally, and Publii builds a static site that you can publish to GitHub Pages, GitLab Pages, Netlify, Amazon S3, Google Cloud, FTP, SFTP, or manual deployment. Because the site is static, it has no database, no PHP, and no public CMS admin panel. It is available for macOS 12+, along with Windows 10+ and Linux.

You can write in a block editor, a WYSIWYG editor, or Markdown, and add galleries, videos, tables, and code snippets without editing HTML. Publii generates semantic HTML and includes settings for metadata, sitemaps, structured data, and social previews. Its theme settings let you adjust colors, layouts, and typography, and plugins add features such as analytics, search, comments, and SEO tools.

Publii also includes privacy tools for configuring a GDPR- and CCPA-friendly website. These include an advanced cookie banner, Google Consent Mode v2, consent controls for embedded content, Do Not Track mode for videos, and script consent controls. Once a destination is configured, you can sync later changes from the app with a click.
