About
QDirStat is a graphical Mac app that shows where your disk space has gone and helps you clean it up. It is KDirStat without any KDE, written by Stefan Hundhammer, the author of the original KDirStat. macOS binaries are built and notarized by Jesus Herrera Arroyo.
QDirStat shows the total size of directories and their files in a traditional tree view and in a colored treemap, where large files appear as large rectangles and small files as small rectangles. Clicking a file shows where it is in the tree, and you can instantly move it to the trash. Colors correspond to file type, such as images or videos.
You can install QDirStat with Homebrew (brew install --cask qdirstat) or by downloading the latest dmg file from the releases page and dragging QDirStat.app to the Applications folder. macOS asks for permission to access certain directories. For system directories, the site recommends enabling Full Disk Access in Privacy & Security settings to avoid repeated prompts.
