Quiet

About

Quiet is a Mac app for team, organization, and community chat that syncs messages directly between members' devices over Tor, with no central server required. Quiet stores your community's data only on your community's phones and laptops, so you keep control of it. It is available for both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Quiet is designed to feel like Slack or Discord rather than Signal. You can create a private community and invite members without requiring an email address or phone number. Features include Slack-style channels, private channels, direct messages, end-to-end encryption, image and file sharing, desktop notifications, @ mentions, invite links, emojis and reactions, message deletion with timed deletion rules, keyboard controls, and support for joining multiple communities. Quiet is completely open source.

Quiet is currently in beta and should not be used for activities that require security.
