RailModeller Pro is a Mac app for creating model railroad and slot car layouts. It includes a library of over 7,000 elements from popular track systems across many model scales, from T (1:450) and Z (1:220) up to IIm/G (1:22.5), plus accessories such as buildings, signals, trees, electrical components, and DCC system components. Layouts can be organized into up to 99 layers, and the app supports three-dimensional design with grades, track height levels, and a 2.5D grade profile view. Built-in assistants help with tasks such as inserting parallel tracks, closing gaps, and creating track helices, while baseboard tools let you plan layout shapes like L-, U-shapes, and rectangles.
The app also helps with planning and purchasing. A part list is maintained automatically for each layout with track usage and costs, and an inventory can be imported and exported as CSV to show what still needs to be bought. Layouts can be printed at arbitrary sizes, up to 1:1 scale, and exported as print-ready PDFs. A community feature lets users browse, share, and like layouts, and the app offers export to JMRI's PanelPro for DCC control.
