About
RawTherapee is a free, cross-platform raw photo processing system released as Free Software under the GPLv3 license. It is designed for developing raw files from a broad range of digital cameras and is aimed at users from enthusiast newcomers to professional photographers. It offers a non-destructive, 32-bit (floating point) processing engine and modern demosaicing algorithms, along with tools for color and detail editing and support for High Dynamic Range DNG files.
RawTherapee also supports two demosaicing algorithms on the same image, compositing pixel-shift raw files with automatic ghost masking, and working with multiple-frame raw files. It includes dark frame subtraction, flat field correction, and hot/dead pixel correction. The software is available in over 15 languages.
RawTherapee is free to use, and its source code is available to download, modify, and improve. It runs on macOS, Linux, and Microsoft Windows. Version 5.13 was released on July 26, 2026.
