About
rcmd is a Mac app for switching between apps and windows using the keyboard. Hold Right Command and press the first letter of an app's name to focus it. Apps are assigned letters automatically, so this works without configuration. You can replace Right Command with another key, such as Caps Lock, fn, or Command-Control, and Left Command keeps working for normal macOS shortcuts. Pressing a letter twice shows, hides, or cycles through an app's windows or apps. The window switcher (Right Command Tab) shows a grid of windows and lets you search window titles and contents. Familiar shortcuts such as Cmd-W, Cmd-M, Cmd-H, and Cmd-Q work on the highlighted window.
Several features are part of rcmd Pro, sold as a lifetime license for €15. Pro adds fuzzy search for launching apps, a launcher, pinned queries, instant switching between macOS Spaces, Exposé-style views of every window, and Stages for saving and restoring the windows on screen. Pro also includes Lenses, which extend rcmd to find and focus browser tabs, terminal panes, and code editor projects, and Favorites, which save pages and projects for quick access later. Search inside windows is also a Pro feature.
rcmd can be installed from the App Store's alternative, through Homebrew with the command brew install rcmd, or by downloading the latest version from the website.
