About
Receipts Space is a local document and receipt hub for macOS. You can import files from anywhere, have key fields recognized automatically, and keep income, expenses, and status clearly visible on a dashboard, with no mandatory cloud. It requires macOS 14.6 or later.
The app emphasizes control and openness: you decide where your data is stored and who has access, your data stays open and portable rather than tied to proprietary cloud services, and all changes are documented in a traceable way to support audit compliance. Automations run routine tasks in the background, you can import or export data to many formats and apps, and the same data can be accessed from multiple computers or shared as a team. It is also prepared for new formats such as e-invoices.
Receipts Space was developed with a focus on data protection and transparency, with no hidden servers, no data sharing, and no dependencies. A free trial is available on the website.
What's new
All release notesSmarter category suggestions for contacts: You decide what a recognized contact suggests – its most frequently used category, the category of its most recent receipt, or nothing at all. And any contact can be given a fixed default category that always takes precedence. Re-run recognition: Two new commands apply recognition to your selected receipts – rebuild the searchable text layer, or re-read amounts, date, and vendor just like a fresh import. Automatic recovery for damaged libraries: A missing or damaged library info file is restored from its backup, or the app offers a repaired copy that opens normally again – optionally bringing back orphaned files as new documents. Quickly save a copy elsewhere: Hold the Option key in the document list to turn "Open PDF Document" and "Open Original" into "Save As" – so you can quickly store a copy in another location. Screenshot right from the feedback form: The new "Screenshot" button captures part of your screen and attaches it to your message with a single click.
