About
Relay is a macOS menu bar app for building rich LLM prompts by combining files, clipboard captures, and voice notes. As you dictate, clipboard captures are woven inline with your transcription, landing where you referenced them, so you don't have to copy and paste piece by piece. Relay assembles the context into a structured Markdown prompt that you can paste into any LLM, with an option to switch to XML. You can also drag and drop images, files, or entire folders to add them as context.
Voice notes can be transcribed with native macOS speech recognition, Apple's SpeechAnalyzer (macOS 26), WhisperKit, or Parakeet. Relay also offers screen annotations: hold a shortcut, draw on your screen, and Relay captures the marked region and attaches an intent such as "focus here," "remove this," or "points to this." Annotations require the Screen Recording permission.
Relay includes an MCP bridge for Claude Code, which lets Claude Code pull your collected context directly through commands such as relay_get_context. Relay also keeps a history of recent captures and composed prompts, and can optionally auto-paste results into the focused app.
