About
Remote Buddy lets you control your Mac from your iPhone, Siri Remote, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Remote, and many other remote controls. It includes support for more than 100 Mac apps and over 1,000 included actions, which you can customize or extend with your own actions and Behaviours using simulated key presses, AppleScript, IR commands, and more. A single customizable menu lets you switch and quit apps, change the system volume, trigger actions, browse the filesystem or your local Music library, and put your Mac to sleep.
Remote Buddy also provides a trackpad, keyboard, and mouse for your Mac, with the Mousespot pointer spotlight effect for presentations. Its Web Video Control feature lets you play, pause, change speed, jump ±10 seconds, and adjust volume or mute in Safari, Chrome, and Edge. Screen sharing mirrors your Mac's screen to your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV using free companion apps, and Desktop Actions can trigger Mission Control and switch Spaces. Sleep and wake are supported through Wake-On-LAN with the companion apps.
For infrared control, Remote Buddy can record and replay IR codes to operate devices such as TVs or amplifiers, though this is a Technology Preview and requires a compatible IR transmitter such as Flirc USB. Remote Buddy 2 requires macOS 10.13 or later, and the website states that macOS 27 Golden Gate and Apple silicon are supported. A free trial is available.
