About
RenameClick is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that renames files based on their contents. Point it at a messy folder, and it reads images and documents, or transcribes spoken audio locally, then turns cryptic names like 8a095-4d0f6a90008b.pdf into clear names like Blood_Test_Results.pdf. Suggested names appear beside the original files, and you can review each suggested filename and category folder before applying anything.
You can choose whether to rename only, sort only into folders, or do both together. Auto Flow watches folders while the app runs to handle incoming files, and Auto Apply is optional. You can also index a folder once, describe the document or image you need, and apply the proposed name right from the search results. RenameClick supports common image, document, and audio formats, including PDF, DOCX, PNG, JPG, MP3, and WAV.
Analysis can run on your computer with the built-in Local AI, which works offline after a one-time model download and keeps files on your device. Alternatively, you can connect a model server such as Ollama or LM Studio, or use your own API key with a cloud provider. Cloud providers and OpenAI-compatible APIs are not included in the Mac App Store build.
