About
Rive is a tool for designing, animating, and wiring interactive graphics. Its Rive Editor lets designers and animators draw, rig, and animate by hand, with timelines, state machines, and data binding. The Rive CLI lets a coding agent build Rive files, and the agent and the Editor work on the same file, so you can go back and forth between them.
Rive can serve as a complete game engine for 2D and 3D games on web, mobile, desktop, and consoles, or be added to products you already have. Its open-source runtimes are available for every platform, with no royalties or runtime fees. The renderer handles vector, raster, and 3D graphics on the GPU, and everything is packaged in the .riv format, a single small file that holds art, motion, and logic.
Rive is used for interactive app UI, websites, product design, game UI, character rigging, vehicle dashboards, and broadcast graphics. Desktop apps and the CLI are available for download, and the website offers documentation, tutorials, and a community Discord.
