About
Rnote is an open-source, vector-based drawing app for sketching, handwritten notes, and annotating documents and pictures. It is aimed at students, teachers, and people who own a drawing tablet, and it offers PDF and picture import and export, an infinite canvas, and an adaptive UI for big and small screens.
Rnote has a UI focused on stylus input, with pressure-sensitive strokes in configurable styles. Other features include a shape tool, a selection tool for moving, rotating, resizing, and modifying content, several document layouts, customizable backgrounds, tabs for working on multiple documents, autosave, and printing. Documents can be exported to formats including SVG, PDF, and Xopp, and saved in Rnote's native .rnote format.
On macOS, Rnote is available as an app bundle, thanks to @dehesselle, and the latest release can be downloaded from GitLab. The file format is still unstable and may change in ways that break compatibility between versions. Rnote is free software licensed under GPL-3.0-or-later.
