About
RoboFont is a font editor for macOS, written from scratch in Python with scalability in mind. It is a fully featured editor with all the tools required for drawing typefaces, and it provides full scripting access to objects and the interface.
RoboFont also works as a platform for building your own tools and extensions. The core application is complemented by dozens of specialized extensions, including open-source extensions available on GitHub and via Mechanic, and commercial extensions available in the Extension Store. It requires macOS 10.12 or higher, uses UFO3 as its native font format, and supports Python 3.12 out of the box.
A community Discord server brings together type designers and software developers who share tools, best practices, and knowledge. Educational licenses are also available: teachers can request a free 1-year trial license for their students, or subscribe to the Student License Service.
