About

RubyMine is a Ruby and Rails IDE from JetBrains, free for non-commercial use, for coding, testing, debugging, and shipping Ruby and Rails software. It supports working alongside AI agents: you can run multiple agents at once across one or many projects, track which sessions are running, done, or waiting on you, and comment on a diff line to send feedback back to an agent. Code intelligence resolves definitions, dependencies, and types across the codebase, and you can connect your own API key, an existing plan, or JetBrains AI.

RubyMine includes tooling for the Ruby and Rails stack, including Rails, RBS, Rake, RuboCop, Docker, RSpec, Minitest, Cucumber, and Test::Unit. It offers an interactive debugger for Ruby and JavaScript/TypeScript, a GUI test runner, and database tools powered by DataGrip for PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, MariaDB, and more. Frontend support covers React, Vue.js, Angular, Node.js, Hotwire, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, and the page notes it also includes WebStorm's features.

For version control, RubyMine provides a built-in Git UI for committing, branching, and resolving merge conflicts, with support for Mercurial, Perforce, and Subversion. Remote development is supported through dev containers, WSL, or SSH. AI assistance is available for generating, explaining, testing, and refactoring code, as well as writing commit messages and reviewing diffs.
