About
RWTS PDFwriter is a print driver for OS X 11.0 and later that lets you "print" documents directly to PDF files. It has similar functionality to CutePDF on Windows. The installer provides a universal binary that works with both Intel and Apple Silicon processors.
To install, download the installer package and install it as usual. The installer opens the PDFWriter Utility, where you create a destination folder for your PDFs. You must quit the Utility after creating the folder to complete the installation. Other users can create their own print destinations from the Options & Supplies button for the printer in System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Once installed, print your documents using PDFwriter as your printer, and the resulting PDFs are stored in the folder you created.
To uninstall, open the PDFWriter Utility and click the button to reveal the uninstall script. After you enter your administrative password, RWTS PDFwriter is removed from your system. The project is released under the GNU GPL License Version 2, and its source code can be compiled. It was originally based on Lisanet PDFWriter, which was in turn based on CUPS-PDF.
