About
Scootch lets one keyboard and mouse control every computer on your desk, with any mix of Windows, Mac and Linux. Move the pointer past the edge of your screen and it carries on onto the next computer, along with your keyboard. You can also drag files or whole folders over the edge to the other computer, or right-click to send them to a specific machine. Copy on one computer and paste on another, with text, pictures and formatting coming across. Your keyboard shortcuts translate between Mac and PC, and media keys go to whichever computer is playing.
Setup takes about two minutes. Install Scootch on each computer, click Add a computer on the one whose keyboard you'll use, and type the six-digit code shown on the other computer. You can arrange computers to match how they sit on your desk. Everything stays on your own network: there's no account or cloud, what you type is encrypted, and Scootch pauses itself on public Wi-Fi. Computers must be on the same home network, so it doesn't work over the internet.
Scootch is free to try for 3 days with no card needed. After that it costs £24, €29 or $29, paid once, with no subscription. It runs on Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), macOS 11 or later, and 64-bit Linux as new as Ubuntu 24.04, and works with any keyboard and mouse.
