About
ScreenFocus is a Mac app for people who use more than one monitor. It follows your cursor and dims inactive displays, reducing brightness so your main workspace stays visible and side screens stop competing for attention. When you move your cursor to another screen, that display brightens again, and it dims once you move away. The app is useful for deep work, video, and reading, and it works with external monitors without turning them off or changing your desktop setup.
You can adjust the dim level, delay, fade duration, and which monitors are dimmed, or use the defaults. By default the main monitor stays undimmed, and this can be changed in settings. ScreenFocus is a one-time purchase with no subscription, includes free updates within the current major version, and supports both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It requires macOS 10.12 or newer.
According to the website, ScreenFocus is private by design: it does not collect usage analytics, telemetry, or personal data, and dimming settings stay on your Mac. A free trial is available.
