About
ScreenKite is a Mac app for screen recording, advanced video editing, and AI-assisted video editing, all in one place. It follows your cursor and zooms in on every click and keystroke as you record, and its built-in editor lets you cut mistakes, use transcript-based cutting, add captions, and export. The site says exports finish 3x faster than Screen Studio on the same recording and Mac, which it attributes to a native Swift and Metal build that uses the hardware encoder.
You can customize how your recording looks by changing the background, adding space around the screen, rounding the corners, adding a shadow, and placing your camera anywhere on screen. Transcription runs on your Mac with WhisperKit, and recordings stay on your Mac unless you share them. Your audio stays on the Mac too unless you turn on cloud transcription.
ScreenKite is free to download and requires macOS 15 or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel. A $79.99 payment covers 3 Macs with no renewal, and the site lists a $0 AI fee, with AI usage billed to your own agent plan.
