About
Script Debugger is an integrated development environment focused entirely on AppleScript. It lets you explore scriptable applications through its Dictionary Explorer, which shows an application's live data and lets you interact with it without writing AppleScript. For writing code, it offers code completion for variables, AppleScript and scripting addition commands, application commands and names, and AppleScriptObjC handlers, along with split-pane editing, code folding, and tabbed windows. For debugging, it can run scripts line by line, set breakpoints, and display the values of variables at each stage of execution. When you're ready to share your work, Script Debugger checks for common packaging errors, can export scripts in run-only form to protect private code, and lists the applications, scripting additions, libraries, and frameworks a script needs. Script Debugger 8 runs natively on M1 Macs and supports universal applets, Dark Mode, and themes.
