About
Send to Kindle for Mac lets you add personal documents, web content, and other files to your Kindle library so you can read them on your Kindle or in the Kindle app. Once they're in your library, you can use features such as reading progress, notes, highlights, and bookmarks. Supported file types include PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF, HTM, HTML, PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, BMP, and EPUB.
You can send files in a few ways. In Finder, right-click a file and choose Share, then Send to Kindle, or select the file, open the more actions menu, and choose Send to Kindle. You can also open the Send to Kindle app and drag and drop files into it, or drop files onto its icon in your Dock. The Kindle app for Mac, which the site recommends, can be enabled as a sharing option under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Extensions > Sharing.
For files you want to keep directly on your device, the app's USB File Manager lets you connect your Kindle to your Mac with a USB cable and drag and drop files into your Kindle's documents folder. Other ways to send content include the web, iOS, Android, email, the Chrome extension, and the Windows app.
