About
Sequel Ace is a fast, easy-to-use Mac database management application for working with MySQL and MariaDB databases. It is the successor to the longtime macOS tool Sequel Pro, and it runs on macOS 13.5 or later on both Intel and Apple Silicon processors. It supports MySQL 5.7 and later and MariaDB 10.0 and later. It is free and open-source software licensed under MIT, and it can be installed from the Mac App Store, through the mas CLI, or with a community-maintained Homebrew Cask. Existing saved connections from Sequel Pro can be migrated using a migration guide.
Sequel Ace includes a built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets AI agents, such as Claude Code and Cursor, query your databases through Sequel Ace's existing connections. The server is off by default, listens on localhost only, and runs in read-only mode unless you change that setting. It can be enabled under Preferences > MCP Server.
Documentation is available at sequel-ace.com. Beta builds are also published as a separate app, Sequel Ace Beta, which can be installed alongside the App Store release.
