About
Serviio is a free media server developed by Petr Nejedly. It streams your music, video, or image files to renderer devices on your connected home network, such as a TV set, Blu-ray player, games console, or mobile phone. A paid Pro edition further enhances the ways you can share content in your household.
Serviio works with many home devices, including TVs, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, smartphones, and tablets. It supports device-specific profiles so it can be tuned to each device's capabilities and can transcode media to minimize format playback problems. Because it is based on Java, it runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux, including embedded systems such as NAS devices.
With the Pro edition, you can access your files anywhere and use MediaBrowser or one of the apps to view your content over the Internet. Serviio can also be controlled by voice through an Alexa device, so you can simply say what you want to watch.
