About
ShichiZip is a 7-Zip derivative for macOS, rebuilt natively to offer the 7-Zip File Manager experience. It supports everything upstream 7-Zip supports. The ZS build is the Zstandard fork variant, and a mainline variant is also available. Both come in arm64 and x86_64 builds.
ShichiZip offers one-click smart extraction, which automatically picks the best destination and strips duplicate top-level folders. You can preview archives in Finder and files inside archives with Quick Look, without extracting them. macOS-specific features include stripping resource forks and best-effort integration with Finder.
Release builds are available on the Releases page, and the app can also be installed through Homebrew Cask with `brew install --cask shichizip-zs` or through MacPorts with `sudo port install shichizip +zstd`. ShichiZip is licensed under LGPL-2.1.
