About
Silenz is a Mac app that helps you stay focused with your headphones on. When someone speaks, your music fades and their voice comes through. Its Focus feature auto-pauses playback when someone talks, and Smart mode also listens for speech, phone rings, and doorbells while ignoring random background noise. Ambient Sound lets you hear the room through your headphones by playing live microphone audio alongside your music, so you can follow conversations without taking them off.
Silenz also protects your space: when you lock your Mac or unplug your headphones, it pauses playback or mutes the output so nothing blasts through your speakers. It works with Apple Music, Spotify, VLC and 10 more players, handling playback and volume automatically. Nothing is recorded, and audio never leaves your Mac. It requires macOS 13 or later and is available for $16 as a one-time purchase, or free to try for 7 days on Setapp.
