Sim Genie is a Mac menu bar app that gives you access to productivity features in Xcode's simulator. For location testing, you can draw a path on a map or load routes from GPX files, then control playback speed and other options. Its Quick Repeat hotkey re-triggers your last action, such as opening a deep link, and another hotkey can delete derived data.

Sim Genie also helps with marketing and testing. You can record screen captures from the simulator, apply custom status bars without writing code or using real hardware, and import high-quality Unsplash photos with one click. Snapshots let you save local test data and restore an app's data later, and you can revoke or reset permissions without digging through the Settings app. You can also open an app's sandbox to edit UserDefaults or delete the cache and tmp folders.

For push notifications and deep links, Sim Genie lets you test how your app responds without deploying to a device or setting up a push server. Sim Genie also detects when you change toolsets via Xcode-select and switches immediately, and an Agent (MCP) Server lets agents interact with the simulator and use features like snapshotting.
