SimpleDEMViewer browses DEM (Digital Elevation Model) data as a relief map, displaying a colored map with shading. It draws bird's-eye views, stereographs, panorama views, grayscale maps, and orthographic, Mercator, and other projection maps. The app supports many DEM formats, including GTOPO30, SRTM, ETOPO1, GLOBE, GDEM, GeoTiff, netCDF, and USGS and ArcInfo ASCII files. No DEM data is included, so users must prepare their own data separately.
The app can also draw lakes and contour lines on the color elevation map, create routes and area data, and add memos that can show pictures, movies, or web pages. Maps can be saved as images in any format that Image Kit supports, or as PDF. A Mac App Store version, SimpleDEMViewerAS, is also available, though it includes some restrictions required by the Mac App Store. Version 8 and AS 3 require macOS 12 or newer.
