About
SimpleX Chat is a messaging network that describes itself as the only one without any user identifiers. You own your contacts, groups and channels. Every contact and group is stored on your device, not in a server's database, and no single entity controls the network because anyone can run servers.
The network is built so that nobody can see who you talk to, not even the servers, which see only messages that look like random noise. The site reports tens of millions of messages delivered privately every day, more than 3 million downloads of SimpleX apps, and security audits in 2022 and 2024.
SimpleX says it is funded by its users. Large channels and communities will pay for their own servers, and users can invest in SimpleX Chat through equity crowdfunding. Communities can be found through the SimpleX Directory, and the roadmap includes community credits and tools to help communities grow.
