About
Snapzy is a native macOS screen capture app designed to be simple to use while offering the tools you'd expect from a premium capture utility. It covers the full capture workflow: area selection, smart element snapping, active window capture, scrolling capture for long pages or documents, delay capture for timed shots, and screen recording with system audio and microphone support. Other capabilities include subject capture that removes backgrounds, a precision magnifier with pixel grid and RGB or HEX color copying, and text recognition that extracts text from images or video frames to your clipboard.
After capture, a Quick Access Overlay lets you drag, copy, save, or edit a pinned preview in one click. The built-in editor adds arrows, text, highlights, and backgrounds, with in-place annotation tools that include smart arrows, shapes, sensitive data blur, and sequential step numbering. A built-in video and GIF editor lets you trim recordings, crop frames, adjust playback speed, add padding, and export MP4 or animated GIF files. A capture history lets you search, filter, and retrieve past screenshots and recordings, and it works fully offline.
Snapzy requires macOS 13 or later and is free and open-source. It is notarized by Apple and can be downloaded as a DMG or obtained from GitHub. The app supports native per-app language settings in English, Vietnamese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, and Russian, with Spanish, French, and German listed as coming soon.
