About
Snipaste is a simple but powerful snipping tool that also lets you pin screenshots back onto the screen. Download and start the app, press F1 to start snipping, then press F3 to paste the snip as a floating window. It can also turn text or color info in the clipboard into floating image windows.
Floating windows can be zoomed, rotated, flipped, made translucent, and made click-through. Other features include auto detect UI elements, pixel-level control, a color picker, history playback, multi-screen support, and HiDPI (retina display) support. Annotation tools include rectangle, ellipse, arrow, pencil, text, mosaic, Gaussian blur, and eraser, with undo and redo.
Snipaste is always free for personal use. For business use, Snipaste 1.x remains free, but starting from Snipaste 2.0, a paid license is required. A macOS Universal download of Snipaste 2 is available.
