About
Sol is an open source app launcher for macOS, focused on ease of use and speed. It has minimal configuration and runs natively. You can install it with Homebrew using `brew install --cask sol`, or download the latest release manually.
Sol's features include app search, custom shortcuts, Google Translate, calendar appointments shown in the menu bar, custom AppleScript commands, custom links, browser bookmark imports, a window manager, a clipboard manager, notes, a scratchpad, and a process killer. It can also retrieve the Wi-Fi password, show your IP address, start a Google Meet, switch the OS theme, generate NanoIDs, UUIDs, and lorem ipsum, format and paste JSON, forward media keys to Spotify or Apple Music, blacken the menu bar, evaluate math operations, run scripts, and work with symbolic links.
Sol supports macOS 14.0 and later and shows only the emoji supported by the installed macOS version. Its emoji picker includes Emoji 17.0 and lets you set a preferred skin tone under Settings → General → Emoji Skin Tone. Sol is released under the MIT License.
