About
SolidCraft is an open-source parametric CAD app built in Rust. You can create sketches, set dimensions and geometric constraints, and build 3D parts by extruding or revolving a sketch. Features stay in an editable timeline, so you can go back to earlier features, change their parameters, and rebuild the model. The app also supports assemblies and joints, and it can import and export files, including STEP and mesh formats.
SolidCraft uses named parameters for dimensions such as board width, wall thickness, and enclosure height. Changing a value rebuilds the features that depend on it. The site's Raspberry Pi enclosure example shows this workflow, with an enclosure resized from 24 to 32 mm in height. Designs can be saved in an editable form.
SolidCraft runs as a desktop app for Windows, macOS, Linux, and FreeBSD, or in your browser. An optional Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration lets a compatible AI agent run modeling commands, measure geometry, change parameters, and export files, and you can then open and edit the result in SolidCraft. SolidCraft works without an AI assistant. The current release is v0.22.0.
