About
Sound Control gives you full control of your Mac's audio. You can adjust the volume of individual apps, quickly mute them, and give every app and output device its own effects settings. Effects can be built with Audio Units, and the AUNBandEQ and 10- or 31-band graphic EQ let you tailor the sound to your liking. Sound Control also includes thousands of searchable AutoEQ headphone calibrations that load into the AUNBandEQ.
Sound Control also handles where and how audio plays. You can reroute each app's audio to any output device, such as sending Music to an external USB device while your other apps use your MacBook's internal speakers. Left-to-right balance can be set for each app and output device, with an option to down mix to mono. Priority devices can automatically set the default input and output devices from your priority list when they are plugged in.
For quick control, hot keys can adjust volume, mute, and EQ for the foreground app, and a hot key can mute all background apps. All hot keys can also be controlled via MIDI, and absolute and relative MIDI knobs and sliders are supported. Other features include Virtual Volume for adding keyboard volume controls to devices such as DisplayPort monitors and HDMI TVs, Prevent Sleep to keep the default audio device awake, and Do Not Disturb, which mutes background apps while a chosen app is in front.
