About
SoundAnchor lets you set audio priorities on your Mac. Put your microphones in the order you prefer, and when one connects, SoundAnchor makes sure the best available one is selected. It can also stop Bluetooth headphones from lowering call quality just because macOS picked their built-in mic. You can reorder devices and adjust microphone gain from the menu bar without opening System Settings.
The App Mixer sets each app's volume from 0% to 200% and chooses where it plays, so you can keep music on your speakers and a call in your headphones. SoundAnchor remembers these choices when apps restart, and if an output disconnects, audio uses the system output until it reconnects. The App Mixer requires macOS 14.4 or later and System Audio Recording permission. Audio is processed on your Mac without being recorded or uploaded.
For playing to two outputs at once, SoundAnchor can create an aggregate output device on the fly, so you can pair devices such as speakers and AirPods without opening Audio MIDI Setup. SoundAnchor offers a 30-day free trial. After the trial, you can buy a one-time license key for €2.99.
