About
SourceGit is an open-source, free Git GUI client that runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. It provides a graphical interface for common Git operations, including clone, fetch, pull, push, merge, rebase, reset, revert, cherry-pick, amend, reword, squash, and interactive rebase. It also supports branches, remotes, tags, stashes, submodules, worktrees, and Git LFS, along with a visual commit graph, diffs, file histories, blame, and bisect.
The app offers built-in light and dark themes with support for custom themes, and its interface is available in many languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Russian, and others. It also supports SSH access to each remote, creating pull requests on GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, Gitee, and Bitbucket, and generating commit messages with AI, plus a built-in conventional commit message helper.
SourceGit requires Git 2.25.1 or later to be installed. On macOS, the release packages are unsigned, so the project's instructions must be followed for the app to run, and it can also be installed via Homebrew. On Linux, the project notes that it has only been tested on Debian 12 under both X11 and Wayland.
