About
Squirrel Point Cartographer is a native Mac application for viewing and editing GPS data. The recent Cartographer v2.0 release greatly improves performance, with faster map rendering, data loading, importing, and exporting. You can add notes and web links to your Locations and Paths, and get detailed weather forecasts for the specific places you care about rather than a distant city.
Cartographer was created by an avid cyclist and hiker who wanted a tool to plan, track, and share maps of adventures, one that didn't falter with many waypoints or tracks and that kept getting better. All data remains on your computer, and no AI is ever trained on that data. Virtually all features are free, including unlimited Maps, Locations (waypoints), and Paths, with as many groups as you like. Exporting data as GPX or image files requires a subscription or a lifetime unlock.
What's new
All release notesThe traditional post big release bug fix build: - fix crash at launch on Tahoe - fix new Locations/Paths not displaying in Organizer immediately - fix Organizer not updating correctly for grouping changes - fix unable to delete Group - fix toolbar button display when using dark mode - sort Organizer ignoring case so aaa appears with AAA not at the bottom of the list (technically not alphabetically but feels better?) - improve map updates when adding new Locations or Paths (map doesn't snap to selected items when adding new Annotations)
