About
SSH Config Editor is a Mac app for managing your OpenSSH client configuration and known-hosts files. It lets you manage identities, port forwarding, and other options in one interface instead of limited text editing. You can search across host settings, organize configurations into groups, reorder host configs with drag and drop, and disable configurations that are no longer relevant. Each host can have its own identity file, and all your SSH connections are accessible from the app.
The app also supports local and remote port forwarding, including adding or editing forwarding options, visualizing the process, and copying the forwarding SSH command to the clipboard. For known hosts, you can find entries even if they are encrypted, mark entries as certification authority or revoked, remove or comment invalid or changed hosts, and open a connection to a known host. Spotlight integration, shortcuts, templates, and sharing via the system share menu are also included.
Some features require the Pro version, including automatic login with securely stored passwords, port knocking sequences, quick connection from the menu bar icon, and the Keys Manager, which covers file system and Secure Enclave keys. The app is offered with a 7-day trial.
