About
SteerMouse is a utility that lets you freely customize buttons, wheels, and cursor speed. It supports both USB and Bluetooth mice. It does not support the Apple Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad, and it may not support some special buttons.
You can assign a function to a button, to combinations of a button and modifier keys (command, shift, option, control), or to combinations of buttons. Available functions include keyboard shortcuts, clicks, scrolling, zoom, an application switcher, Mission Control, system control, music control, and opening files and URLs. Cursor snapping moves the cursor to a default or close button and has an auto-click option. You can configure your mouse for each application individually.
SteerMouse adds Sensitivity adjustment on top of the Tracking Speed setting in System Settings, and lets you adjust the Acceleration and Sensitivity of scroll speed. A free trial lasts 30 days. A new license costs US$19.99, and licenses for SteerMouse 5 are lifetime, with minor upgrades free.
